Marketing

When I decided to self-publish my book, I re-searched many writing websites and blogs. I watched videos and listened to podcasts too. They all agree that the biggest drawback of self-publishing is marketing. We have no agents out there selling our books, getting us publishing deals or arranging book tours/signings. This became quite a concern for me because I am not a salesperson in any respect. As an introvert, I have a hard time speaking to people on most days, let alone trying to convince someone to purchase a story that I wrote.
One of the ways the “experts” advise authors to sell themselves is to blog. I had a problem with this from the get-go. One, as I already mentioned, I am an introvert and I am not sure I have a whole lot to say. Two, when I do open up, I tend to over-share, as I tend to be an open-book most of the time. I understand the point of blogging. You want your readers to see that you are approachable and a real person. So, I created this blog, and will try to say something at least weekly. But I assure you I am approachable and real.
Speaking of saying something, I will be hanging out with The Less Desirables podcast on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. I will be chatting with them about my up-coming book, Souls Eternal. Make sure you go over to their Facebook page and give them a like. Also, don’t forget to listen to the show.
